Pipoca is a sculptural object, with a captivating chess pattern, crafted from natural stone. A precise cube form that holds two of Europe’s most expressive marbles in quiet tension.
Pipoca – Brown Emperador & White Estremoz
Pipoca works as a side table, coffee table, plinth or simply as a sculptural object. In its reduced form, the cube’s geometry has no hierarchy, no top or bottom, but with a carved niche that invites use: a space to rest a book, a glass, a small object. Just like Pipoca, its surface is unpredictable by nature: Every piece pops differently.
The chess pattern is one of design's oldest motifs, architectural, mathematical, and visually inexhaustible. In Pipoca, this classic geometry is rendered in natural stone: the deep, spiderweb-veined warmth of Spanish Brown Emperador set against the luminosity of Portuguese White Estremoz. The result is an object that is at once graphic and organic, the pattern is rigorous, each square carrying its own unique mineral character.
It is decorative design in the truest sense: a pattern that earns its place through the material it celebrates. Particularly striking in monochrome interiors.

MATERIAL
BROWN EMPERADOR MARBLE (Spain)
Brown Emperador is quarried in the Murcia region of southeastern Spain. Its deep brown ground, threaded with fine white veining and crystalline formations, provides the rich, moody contrast that makes the chess pattern so striking in stone.
WHITE ESTREMOZ MARBLE (Portugal)
White Estremoz comes from Portugal's Marble Triangle, the ancient quarrying region of Estremoz, Vila Viçosa, and Borba in the Alentejo. Its fine grain, creamy-white base, and subtle warm veining have made it one of Europe's most prized stones for centuries. The contrast with the Emperador's depth is immediate and enduring.

VARIATIONS
Because both stones are entirely natural, the exact veining and tonal character of each square will vary from piece to piece. The chess pattern remains consistent; the stone within it is always unique.
FINISH
Hand-polished
MAINTENANCE
Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar, bleach, or citrus-based products, as these can etch the stone surface. Use coasters under glasses and avoid placing very hot objects directly on the marble. With proper care, your Pipoca will age beautifully and become a lasting piece in your home.
