Bica works as a side table, coffee table, plinth or simply as a sculptural object. In its reduced form, the cube’s geometry has no hierarchy, no top or bottom, but with a carved niche that invites use: a space to rest a book, a glass, a small object.
Just like a Portuguese Bica, it’s a dialogue between two distinct stones: the deep, warm of Spanish Brown Emperador and the luminous calm of Portuguese White Estremoz. Placed together in a single object, they create a surface that reads differently in every light condition and from every angle.
The two-tone composition pairs beautifully with natural textiles, and warm wood tones.

MATERIAL

BROWN EMPERADOR MARBLE
Brown Emperador is quarried in the Murcia region of southeastern Spain. Its characteristic deep chocolate-brown base is threaded with fine white veins and crystalline formations, geological marks laid down over millions of years. Dense, heavy, and warm in tone, it brings weight and gravitas to any interior.

WHITE ESTREMOZ MARBLE
White Estremoz is sourced from Portugal's Marble Triangle — the ancient quarrying region spanning Estremoz, Vila Viçosa, and Borba in the Alentejo. Prized since antiquity, this marble is defined by its fine grain, creamy white base, and subtle red-veined patterning. It is among the most refined and sought-after Portuguese stones, used historically in royal palaces and ecclesiastical architecture across Europe.

MAINTENANCE

Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar, bleach, or citrus-based products, as these can etch the stone surface. Use coasters under glasses and avoid placing very hot objects directly on the marble. With proper care, your Bica will age beautifully and become a lasting piece in your home.
